How to be that girl; style edition

The IT girl trend has been happening for over 3 years. The clean girl aesthetic, the pilates princess, the minimalistic but chic fashion, the girl who effortlessly seems to have it all together. Over the years I’ve seen women striving for this look, this vibe and not being able to achieve it because they didn’t begin with the building blocks to become this girl. It’s actually simpler than you would believe to make these changes and it all begins with your wardrobe.

I could scream it to the rooftops that the most important thing that will instantly boost your confidence is your outfit. Pieces that make you feel comfortable but fashionable have the capacity to instantly boost your mood and change your outlook on the day regardless of what has happened. The IT girl focusses on pieces that are versatile but high quality. Heres a few of my favourite brands that will help you instantly achieve the ‘IT girl’ vibe you’re going for.

Pilates princess brands

SET ACTIVE

Set Active is a great high quality active wear brand that doubles for a workout outfit while still being a great option to wear when running errands or going out for a casual lunch with a friend after a busy morning. The company has two stores, one in Los Angeles and the other in New York so more than likely you will need to browse the website and order online. The pieces are high quality and have an amazing diverse colour range that you can’t find anywhere else. These pieces (below) are my favourites to wear when I have to run from my early morning workout to my brunch plans and sometimes I even push the limits and wear them to my meetings (depending on the vibes, obviously.) Heres two of my go-to Set Active outfits that help me achieve the IT girl vibe in the StyleBook above.

HOUSE ID

House Concepts is a gym that recently (within the last 2 years) opened its doors in Vancouver. The gym is beautiful and has all sorts of amenities along with it’s top tier group fitness classes. I have been going to House Concepts for a little over a year and while I was taking their classes I had the opportunity to check out their active wear line. I have a few pieces from their collection and they are high quality and super flattering. They have the perfect amount of branding so that it isn’t overpowering but it’s still present. Although I find you can wear these pieces wherever the day takes you, my favourite pieces are the ones that are strictly for the gym. You can find them in the free ‘IT"‘ Girl StyleBook at the top of this blog.

Clean girl & minimalistic fashion brands

REFORMATION

Reformation has so easily become one of my favourite brands. It showcases simple pieces that can be an amazing base to build a wardrobe around. They have exceptional options for dress pants, capsule wardrobe tops and pieces with a little extra spice which can be a great addition to your wardrobe. The price point is slightly higher but can be compared to Aritzia and Ssense which are also two great options for IT girl brands. There are a few of my favourite pieces and how I would style them in the free StyleBook above.

REVOLVE

Revolve will forever be one of my favourite online websites to browse and shop. This website truly has it all from Agolde denim to WeWoreWhat and Kat the Label, there is no limit to what you can find when browsing. As a stylist I often find my clients the perfect pieces from Revolve whether its for everyday, or important events. The price of these brands and pieces that the website showcases range from $50 into the thousands so there is something for everyone. They also have a diverse range of handbags and shoes as well. My favourites can be found in the StyleBook above.

It’s important to note that these are just a few of the brands that can help you achieve that IT girl look and they are in no way the only brands that can help you get there. Personally my closet is very diverse and I believe whatever your budget you can find amazing pieces, its all about how you style them! If you need help styling the pieces you have or need direction on what pieces to buy, check out my contact form and we can book you in for a learning session to determine how we can level up your personal brand as well as your style!
